Energy has become a very widespread topic in everyday speech. Energy is discussed in large companies and in corporations, in agriculture and in private life, as well as at school. The perception that one may dispose of energy according to one’s means and needs is spreading. Nowadays it is even possible to choose how to obtain energy. The deregulation of the electricity and gas markets has indeed introduced the idea of freely choosing a supplier, freely deciding a form of provision, and freely selecting a form of energy production. It is today possible to produce one’s own energy. Even the ordinary citizen may do so.

More than twenty years ago, when such opportunities were still farfetched, ENplus professionals were already working on energy, namely on its production, its management, and its transportation.

When the market began to take off and only a few people actually knew “how to move about”, Enplus professionals were present at construction sites starting up the first electric cogeneration plants that were working on gas and biogas, and that were running on turbines and motors.

The first district heating plants were appearing, the first companies were becoming producers of “their own” energy, the first landfill sites were beginning to use biogas for the production of electricity.

We have always firmly believed that such a market could and had to be useful to the environment. For that reason, we focused closer on it, and managed it at our best.

Today Enplus Italy is aware that assuring efficiency and using renewable sources are the most ecological manners to produce energy. High-efficiency cogeneration, energy from biogas, the sun, vegetable oil and biomass represent indeed our main activity and our day-to-day reality.
