Highlighting the importance of biomass in the field of energy is one of the key points of the nation’s strategy to reduce gas emissions that deteriorate climate, in particular carbon dioxide. Solid biomass is mainly made of forest products or residues of wooden nature. Through the process of combustion, biomass is used to generate electrical and thermal energy.

The wooden and cellulose biomass chain is the most widespread and well-established in the nation. It historically represents one of the main sources of renewable energy.

Biomass unquestionably boasts a favourable environmental impact and a high energy output. These features have contributed in making it a growing market, both in businesses and in private homes.

ENPlus offers its customers personalized solutions that are studied according to solid biomass type and availability (wood, agricultural waste and food processing waste), according to the best possible overall energy impact, and to the type of thermal energy requested, for example, hot air, steam or overheated water for the production process, and hot water for district heating.

The systems can offer either an exclusive production of thermal energy or in cogeneration a combined production of electrical and thermal energy. The electricity that is produced benefits from incentives established by the current law on renewable sources (Green Certificates).

In order to make the project actually sustainable, ENPlus favours projects that consider local supplying of biomass and use of thermal energy produced by the system, in addition to electricity put into the national network.

In view of a possible local use of biomass, the suggested size of the systems ranges from a minimum of 1 MWe to a maximum of 6 MWe

In this range, ENPlus is able to construct the entire system “prompt delivery”, including its design and authorization procedure. It can also design and realize every specialized activity concerning the electric and thermofluid systems as well as the system’s main items that can be chosen and/or purchased directly by the customer (biomass fuel system, boiler, steam turbine, organic Rankine cycle turbo generators).
