ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND COGENERATION

The true meaning of energy efficiency consists in reducing waste of energy, improving systems of energy production and distribution, engaging in usual activities by consuming less energy and by being more respectful of the environment. High-efficiency cogeneration, that can transform a conventional or renewable primary source into energy necessary to an end user,  becomes one of the most important tools to improve simultaneous consumption of electrical, thermal and/or refrigerating energy. Thanks to cogeneration of thermo electric energy, reduction of energy costs becomes considerable and strategic for the energy consumer. There is also a consistent drop of  CO2 ranging from 15% to 25% when compared to a separate use of electrical energy and thermal energy (as well as refrigerating energy).
In relation to primary energy saving, expressed in TEP (the equivalent of a ton of oil), high-efficiency cogeneration is economically rewarded, as determined by the law, through Energy Efficiency Titles awarded by the Energy and Gas Authority.
